Michael Learns to Rock back in RP for one-night-only concert.
The voices behind classic ballads like "The Actor," "25 Minutes" and "Out of the Blue" are back in Manila to serenade their millions of Filipino fans.
Singer- keyboard player Jascha Richter, drummer Kåre Wanscher and guitarist Mikkel Lentz of the Danish band “Michael Learns to Rock” (MLTR) will be performing in a one-night-only concert on November 22 at the Araneta Coliseum.
The three last visited the country eight years ago. They said they were “very excited” to be back in the country.
“We hope that everybody will come [to our concert] just like [before]. The Filipino audience is the best,” Wanscher told “Mornings@ANC.”
The three recalled that during their last concert in the Philippines “people were waving their mobile phones and singing along with the songs.”
They said this year they are hoping that Filipinos will also “sing along and have a great party.”
Starting out as a little high school cafe band in 1987, MLTR has released seven studio albums and more than 70 tracks to date. The band is said to be one of the biggest music acts in the world.
Marking its 21 years in the music industry and record sales in Asia, South Africa and Europe, the band is also promoting its latest album called “Eternity.”
The album’s carrier single is “Sweetest Surprise.” Lentz said “Eternity” also contains two songs from the band’s old albums.
“[The] lyrics are not difficult to understand. They can sing along, that’s the main reason, I think,” Wanscher said when asked why MLTR’s songs became widely popular especially in the region.
He also noted that Asians particularly love ballads. [ABSCBNNEWS]
